5 Tips to Extend the Life of Your Pool Cover

Pool covers last longer when they are cleaned regularly, dried before storage, and checked for tension or anchor wear. Owners should remove heavy debris promptly, avoid dragging covers over sharp edges, and store seasonal covers in a dry place.
For solar bubble pool covers, the most important habit is gentle handling. Lift and roll the cover instead of pulling it across coping, ladders, or rough deck surfaces. When leaves or dust collect on the film, rinse the surface with clean water before rolling it up.
Pool owners should also avoid storing a wet cover in a sealed space for long periods. Moisture trapped between layers can affect appearance and reduce service life. A shaded, ventilated storage area is best when the cover is not in use.
Regular inspection helps catch problems early. Look for edge wear, bubble damage, loose fittings, or areas where the material rubs against sharp corners. Small maintenance routines can protect the cover and keep pool operation easier through the season.
